Weekend Wednesday v.11

This did not happen over the weekend, but...

USC GAMECOCKS ARE THE CWS CHAMPIONS-AGAIN!!! Back to Back for Garnet & BLACK!!! Sorry for all of you Florida fans, but I needed to put that out there because the CWS is one of the reasons I have been staying up so late these last few weeks and I am so excited that they won! I am sure I will be SUPER tired as the day goes on, but I am going to go ahead and say that it was all worth it...I am also going to say that I have a crush on Scott Wingo...i know, compared to him I am practically 80, but who cares, sometimes, I am in denial about how old I am...whatever. I would also like to say that I had this crush BEFORE the CWS, for the record, but it most certainly did not hurt when he made so many OUTSTANDING plays throughout the CWS. Even last night, while Hubs was on the couch watching the game and I was packing my gym bag in the bedroom, I got a text from Hubs that said "I think I might have a crush on Wingo too." To which I responded with-"You should, I have impeccable taste in men-but he was mine first ;)" Silly Hubs, none the less, it was a great game (well, unless you were a Florida fan like Taryn, then it was probably pretty painful to watch, but HEY-now you know how we feel when we play you during football season...just sayin) and I am still pretty stoked...in case you can't tell. (Additionally...I am pretty sure Hubs would kill me if he knew I told you about that text, so if you don't mind, let's keep that between us...thanks!)

Moving on to the events that actually occurred this weekend.

Friday, some people from work decided that we were going to head out to lunch. I was a little hesitant to go out to eat, because I am seriously on diet lock down. I have been doing very well (in my opinion) staying on the diet wagon and not falling off-so I told them that I would only go if I knew in advance where they were going & if the place everyone decided on had nutritional information available for me to look at BEFORE going so I could plan out my meal (hey, I told you I am serious, and that's what you have to do when you are tracking your calories...which, honestly, I never thought I could or would EVER do-a few years ago (when I was pregnant with Hannah) some of my friends decided that they were going to diet together and every week, on Monday, they would send me their weight info-now, not the actual amount they weighed, but the amount it changed by-either positive or negative, and I kept track of their progress (I was tracking it because I was an impartial 3rd party-as I was pregnant so I really wasn't supposed to be trying to lose weight-not so good for the baby), well about a month into it, Jane was really the only one still making progress with the weight loss, and she did a PHENOMENAL job-I mean, she looked awesome! When I asked her how she did it, she told me she was counting calories, and I just scoffed and said-well I just can't do that, so it won't work for me...well look at me now...man that was some story just for you to know why I said what I did...oh well, you love it and that's why you are here :) I digress...So they decided on Jason's Deli, which, is way better when you go and eat there as opposed to having it catered if you are having an office meeting or some other function, and they also have...free ice cream with every meal, oh ice cream, how I love you...I have practically NO will power when it comes to ice cream...ugh...so because I was able to research the nutritional information and plan out what I was going to eat ahead of time (so there was less likelihood of me picking something terrible for me at the last minute) I agreed to go. As usual, there was the standard, "So, who is driving" conversation. I have a car seat (and a mess) in my back seat, and as you are aware, I HATE driving, but I still offered, but due to the car seat we opted to go with someone else, so Steph said she would drive-she has an SUV. We all get in the SUV, and Lana said, oh I forgot that I have the mini van and not the car, so I could drive (to me, this was a moot point as we were already in Steph's car and it was on...) (you should also know that Lana has twin boys so when she has her car there are 2 car seats in the back so there was not a chance that she would have been able to drive the 4 of us if she did have the car (which is 99% of the time), so that's why she didn't volunteer to drive at first. Apparently, Tameka has NEVER gone for a ride in a minivan before, and literally has Steph turn off her car, and we all got out so we could take Tameka for her first ride in a mini van. MAN! She was excited-you have no idea...Lana even had to set up the 3rd row for us to sit (the car seats were in the 2nd row)...oh the ridiculousness.
Lana trying to set up the third row so we could ride in the minivan

She is seriously excited about this trip in the mini

The third row is so far away from the front seat...

She was excited the whole ride so I had to document the occasion
We made it to Jason's Deli, and as we are standing in line waiting to order, I heard my name-I turn around and I saw Charli! Charli and I went to college together, and I haven't seen her in a pretty long time, so I was super excited to see her (and her beautiful family) and I told her about Hannah's birthday party and she thinks they are going to be able to make it! I am excited! (as seen by the amount of exclamation points i have used so far...) I got back in line to place my order, and I realized I was standing in front of a gentleman who is in the military (as made evident by his uniform and military inspired (or mandated) haircut. When I was checking out, I asked him if he would be so kind as to let me pay for his meal as well as mine. He seemed to be taken pretty off guard by my request and kind of stared at me and told me I did not have to do that, to which I responded with, I know, but you also don't have to serve in the Military, it was a choice you made, and this is a choice I am making to show my appreciation, and I would really like to pay for your lunch-as a token of my gratitude for you service-and then I told him that if I can't pay for my brother's lunch because he is actively deployed, I would like to pay for his instead. He let me and we went on our way. I hope you guys, in situations that you can afford to, will consider doing the same for the people who make the choice to serve you and this country as well.

I left work Friday, and headed to the gym for a nice workout with Heather coupled together with some quality time on the treadmill. During this workout, Heather and I came up with a plan for a weight loss competition between her 3 main clients, which will be starting Friday...I am stoked, because the winner gets a free pedicure AND massage! AWESOME...I don't even know why I bother saying winner, because clearly, I am going to win (riiiiight)-so there is another reason for me not to fall off the diet wagon-I am going to need some support guys, so if you see me reaching for something that doesn't look like it belongs in a diet, please slap it out of my hand...seriously...slap that piece right out of my hand and remind me that my back fat does not appreciate what I was about to eat...Friday night Hubs and I camped out to watch the CWS-USC v Virginia Rematch-we had already beaten Virginia earlier in the week, but they went on to beat UCAL so we had a rematch to determine who would go on to face off against Florida in the Championship Series...which, of course, if you read my intro, you know USC beat UVA!!!

Saturday, we got dressed and hopped in the car to go to the post office-I needed to buy stamps to mail out Hannah's birthday invitations, and we saw Poppi and Hayley there-which was pretty random. After dropping the invitations off, we headed to Target-or The Red store, which you might also know as Hannah's favorite store...I was hoping to find some things for her party, but they really didn't have much in the way of Mickey and Minnie...sad (neither did Walmart for that matter-which I find weird), so we got some random things we needed like disinfectant wipes, nail polish remover, iced animal crackers (for Hannah) that were in the Hot Spot so they were only $1 and some drinks for us since it was only about 88 degrees at that point, and we left (I have yet to make a trip to Target and leave with the only item(s) for which my trip was intended). After Target, we went to some shoe store to try to find some sandals for Hannah to wear for her upcoming pictures...but I didn't have any luck (I think it's because I wanted red ones, and could focus on anything else...except for the HEELS for toddlers...my toddler has a hard enough time walking barefoot, she most certainly does NOT need 2" heels! I was appalled.) The we went to the Party Store down the street from Target and loaded up on more birthday party necessities (like plates and napkins with Mickey and Minnie's faces on them). We decided that we were going to have a cupcake cake instead of an actual cake because they are easier to "cut" and eat (Steph raised a good point the other day about cupcakes...they really are only cake, and since we take the wrapper off to eat them, why is it acceptable to eat cupcakes with our hands and not to eat regular cake?) so I wanted to go to Publix to see if they had a Mickey Cupcake cake, and sure enough they did, but so did WalMart...we were going to go to WalMart to compare prices but when I looked at Hans in the back seat, she was rubbing her eyes and she told me she was a tired teddy bear and wanted to take a nap, so we headed home instead. We all laid down for a little while (Hubs and Hannah napped and I watched Kathy Griffin's stand up routine...MAN! I love Kathy Griffin!).

We went to Walmart after everyone woke up to try to find some shoes for Hannah for the pictures...and to look at the price of the cake we wanted-bu sadly, we were informed that they don't have the kit for the cake we wanted so they couldn't make it...Publix won that battle...and sadly I didn't find any red sandals like I had hoped, but Hannah picked out some white sparkly peep toe sandals so we got those and left for home. We gave Hannah some dinner and got put her bathing suit on her because her very first swim lesson was at 6. We got to the pool and at 5:52 the instructor called to tell me he couldn't make it...insert broken hearted Hannah here. Seriously, she was so excited about the lesson, she had been talking about it all day. As a compromise, we set up her animal water park in the back yard (side note, we have a guy who does our yard work-and he is supposed to come every Friday...and because we had been getting hammered with rain (from drought to drowning) our back yard looks like a freaking jungle safari...so please excuse the height of the grass because Gary hasn't been by in a while. Hannah played in her water park for a while then we went inside to get cleaned up. When Hans went to sleep, Hubs and I had "date night" which was really just sitting on the couch watching a movie-we watch Inception-first time either one of us had seen it...and man, I really wish Hubs had seen it before me so I could have asked him 10000 questions...good movie though!
Kali watched Hannah play in the water...and stayed far away from it

River was also not interested in playing in the water
This is Phalen Water Park...
Laying in the Alligator
Hubs stole her towel
This was her attempt to avoid getting out because we turned the water off and put the other peices away at this point

Sunday, we woke up and got Hannah ready for her 3 year old pictures...I will say it again, I cannot believe my baby is almost 3! We drove out to Mt. Pleasant and went to the same place we had her 1 year old pictures taken. Hannah was in a great mood and did an excellent job listening to the photographer (who, in my opinion, used too much of a high pitched voice for a 3 year old...but that is one of my pet peeves, so I am sure it wouldn't bother anyone else) and we got some really good pictures of her. While we waited for the pictures to be printed, we walked over to Bed Bath and Beyond to waste some time. Okay, for those of you who live in the Charleston area, the BB&B in Mt. P has a MUCH larger selection than the BB&B in n. Charleston-I mean it was ridiculous-there is an entire beauty section-complete with nail polish-like it is Target or something! It was crazy! We ended up getting some random things for Hannah's party there (some tubs for drinks and a pump to make water balloons...Hubs picked it out and wouldn't put it back, so in an effort to avoid a tantrum from both Hannah and Hubs, we got it...so people, please be aware that if you come to Hannah's party, apparently there will be water balloons...unless that pump happens to magically disappear between now and then...that would be a shame...) I would like to also add that during the photo session, the photographer asked Hannah if she liked princesses-and Hannah said "Yes, I do like princesses" so when the Lady asked Hannah who her favorite princess was what did Hannah say? "Hannah." Yep, that's my girl! (For those of you who are wondering, her (current) favorite princess is Belle-I believe it is because she has long brown hair like Hannah but who knows.)
a sample pack, if you will, of the pictures...when did she get so big? I also just realized there is one picture on there twice...but since it is a cute picture of a cute kid I didn't think you would mind
When Hannah's pictures were ready, we went out in search of some lunch...during lunch Hannah announced that she was a tired teddy bear again (that comes from that song-Teddy Bear's Picnic-at six o'clock their mommies and daddies will take them home to bed, because they are tired little teddy bears) So we headed home for a nap. Dad came over and helped Hubs install the new toilets (people, I am not kidding, it is like being in a hotel bathroom for me-the toilets are so much nicer now than the old ones were! AND! They are taller than the other one's so you don't feel like you are falling on the way down to sit on them! AWESOME!) and install a ceiling fan (again, AWESOME) and to try to take remove the stupid basketball pole/hoop that is in the back yard (the dogs have dug up all of the dirt around it so much that they could literally walk under the cement patio...dangerous...and bad dogs!)

Hannah's swim lesson was rescheduled to Sunday, so we got her ready for her lesson and headed to the pool. The instructor was probably no older than 16, and I am pretty sure he didn't have much experience with toddlers...all I want is for Hannah to know how to float and have a less likelihood of drowning since she has no fear of jumping into the pool at anytime, however, apparently the instructor was convinced that she needed to learn the proper techniques of swimming and each stroke...not what I was looking for, but Hannah still had fun. We won't be going back there for lessons, but I have found another organization that I am considering using for the lessons. Hannah is a water baby by nature and I just want to make sure she is a safe and educated water baby.
Practicing kicking

I love this because she always sticks her tongue out when she is concentrating

Just went under the water like a professional...but it only happened twice...the second time did not go smoothly so she woulnd't do it again.
That was our weekend...Hubs said "Man! We had a busy weekend," when we sat down Sunday night...and he was right, we did have a pretty busy weekend.

I also want to add that in my Meet Me on Monday Post, I mentioned that I was going ot be watching the Bachelorette for the Bentley drama...shame on me, I forgot the Championship series of the CWS started Monday night (just for a moment though-no to worry) so I had to divide my time between the 2...good news-Bentley is NOT, in fact coming back, and it would appear that Ashley has learned her lesson about liking (or loving-blech) him and asked him to leave. The game was pretty uneventful during the first 9 innings...it was in the extra innings that it got REALLY exciting-and I mean the, sitting on the edge of your seat, nail biting, heart is racing kind of excitement. (clearly USC won in the end, but there was a point, when I got a text from Taryn, aforementioned Florida fan, that read "Game Over, Lady" MAN-that was a bit premature because she clearly did not get the memo that bases loaded for the USC defense means nothing but a chance to make yet another double play, and Wingo (ahhh Wingo) made not 1 but 2 plays causing outs at home AND the 2nd one turned into, yep you guessed it-an AWESOME double play! USC won by scoring on a throwing error made by the Florida pitcher, but it certainly was a battle until the end!)  And one more time for good measure (and because I heart Wingo and this song)!

How was your weekend? Do you have any plans for July 4th? We are going to the Riverdogs' game Monday. Someone asked me what my favorite part about July 4th is, and I had to really think about it...the day off, the bbq's, the fireworks, the watermelon...no, it is that for 1 whole day, the nation remembers our freedom and appreciates the people who made (and are still making) it possible to maintain our freedom today. Shout out to all of you in the military who CHOOSE to serve-especially those who are actively deployed currently and cannot spend this holiday with their families-so their families can have the opportunity to enjoy this holiday...

Whatever your plans may be, I hope that you are safe. Please, please, please drink responsibly and do NOT drive if you have been drinking, there is always someone who is willing to come get you and all you need to do is ask.  You never know who is on the rode with you at any given time-it could be your family.

"Life without liberty is like a body without a spirit"

Also, July 4th is a very tough day for a dear friend of mine, and if you are reading this, you know who you are, please know that you will, as always, be in my thoughts and prayers because I know this is a difficult day for you-I am only a phone call away-Love you!

Attention Joel McHale-Call Me!

THIS JUST IN!  HANNAH WENT...UM...#2 ON THE POTTY FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER THIS MORNING!!!!!  WE HAVE REACHED A MILESTONE!!! (And, she got to eat some ice cream at 8:30 this morning, because we have been telling her that if she goes # 2 in the potty she can have ice cream -as generally, she goes right around 6pm so it would be appropriate for her to have it at that time...but I certainly don't mind giving it to her at 8:30 this time!)  Please join me in taking a few moments to partake in the potty dance (you can do your own version while I do mine-ready-Go!
Thanks guys!  We are one step closer to defeating the diaper/pull up stage!!!

Just another Manic Monday...or is it?  We had a pretty busy weekend (you know you are going to have to come back Wednesday to find out about it, because that's how I roll...) and I needed wanted to stay up to watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians followed by Ice Loves Coco...(okay, don't roll your eyes, when you watch it one time you get sucked in...one episode turns into 2 and 2 turns into 1 season and then you are hooked for life...I think E! (for me) is like crack...I cannot get enough of it...seriously...I need to watch all of it so when The Soup comes on I am fully aware of all of the things Joel is going to talk about, so I can laugh right along with him...or predict what he would say about it...I have said this before, but I think Joel needs a female counterpart-and not Danielle Fishel on The Style network (does The Dish even come one anymore?) she didn't really have enough sarcasm to pull it off, but do you know who does?  ME!!! Joel, seriously call me, we can work something out I am sure!)

I digress...) but then I was just too tired and gave into my old lady status and went to sleep...I will have to catch up with E! later...shame... ;)  Speaking of The Soup...I CANNOT WAIT to hear what Joel has to say after the Bachelorette tonight! Bring on the Bentley drama!!! WOOT WOOT (insert Fist Pumping here...oh Jersey Shore, how I miss you-please start again soon!  There I go again, bringing it back...)  As I said before...It's Monday, and that means Meet Me On Monday!

1. What is your favorite food?
Spaghetti...hands down.  Did you jaw just drop about the fact that I just made a decision?  I know, if I was you mine would drop in disbelief too, however, I have been a spaghetti lover my whole life-I LOVE to make my own sauce (this has not always been the case, as I am just fine with a sauce from the can too when I don't have the time to put forth the effort to make my own) I love the noodles...I love garlic bread, which for me is a must when eating the spaghetti...oh and a nice salad before the pasta...mmmm...I am practically drooling right now!  How how I love spaghetti!

2. What color scheme is your bedroom?
Scheme?  We don't so much have a scheme...our walls are a light green (paper leaf to be exact) and our furniture is cherry colored, the carpet is beige and the ceiling fan is white (for now-in the next few weeks it will be cherry colored just like the furniture) and our bedding is black and white (well the comforter is black and white, the sheets are currently a burgundy color.   That isn't so much a scheme-more of what I am liking at the moment...and when the mood strikes, I have been known to head to the store and get a new bedding set just because...I used to do this with plate sets...for real, we have so many sets of plates, it is ridiculous!

3. Do you carry a donor card?
Donor Card?  I carry my driver's license with me and it says I am a donor, I am not aware of an additional card I should be carrying around though...anyone know anything about an extra card?

4. In your opinion, is the glass half empty or half full?
The glass has a beverage in it...I don't put my self in either category (there you go guys, right back to the non-decision making),  My dad is a Realist, and I believe I follow him down that path

5. Vanilla or Chocolate?
Vanilla!  I am not a huge chocolate person-in fact, I prefer dark chocolate, which is not generally as accessible as regular milk chocolate, but given the choice, i will totally opt for Vanilla...(For the record, that is ANOTHER firm decision on my part!)
I picked ice cream in honor of Hannah's milestone!
We want to Meet you today too!

Giving 2 Thumbs Up For OPI's Back Shatter

Friday has finally made its appearance!  This has been one crazy week for everything-the weather was record breaking with temperatures over the 100's (before the official start of summer I might add), work is pulling me in all different directions, and as a result, I feel like I haven't seen my family in days...which is never good.  I am looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend, like you don' even know!  Tomorrow Hubs and my dad are supposed to be installing our new toilets...that we purchased over a year ago...don't even get me started...

Side note, I watched the Season Premier of Burn Notice last night-do any of you watch that show?  It is pretty much awesome.  After that, I decided to repaint my nails to give the silver shatter another chance-but this time I tried it over a red-An Affair in Red Square-to be exact-but I only put it on one thumb (I have learned my lesson with trying to go too big and doing all of them-less nail polish remover involved...) and on the other thumb, I did the same red but with black shatter over it...verdict?  Silver shatter is still weirdly thick-I am not sure if it is just the bottle I have or if it is that way with all silver shatters, but I am giving up on it, because the black shatter looked EXACTLY how I thought it would-which is what I wanted...so then I took the silver and red combo off of the other thumb and did the purple I had before (A Grape Fit) and then when it dried put the black shatter over it to see which color combo I liked better...and last night I decided I liked the red and black combo better....but I didn't take the purple off the other thumb, only because I have been talking up this black shatter to everyone and I wanted to show them what it looks like over a brighter color and over a more pastel color too...so I have 9 red and black nails and 1 purple and black nail...and the more I look at the purple, the more I wish it was the other way around, but I love them both so I am not sad.  Bottom line-if you are interested in getting the OPI shatter-I would stick with the original-Black- and wait a little while before branching out with the silver...This girl gives black shatter 2 (different colored) thumbs up!

Meanwhile, I was able to overcome my old lady status most nights this week and went to sleep well after 11 (EGADS-if you know me you know that is quite a stretch...but for some reason I cannot convince my body that I need to go to sleep any sooner...).  Because I was up so late (don't judge me for calling that late, Hannah wakes up around 5 and I still have to work the next day) I was also able to watch Rookie Blue-a newer series on ABC that comes on at 10-it was AWESOME-have any of you watched this show before?  I think they showed a few episodes while Grey's was still airing (new episodes) to get some exposure, and I saw one of those episodes, and if you have seen it, can anyone tell me if it is just more, or does McNally get shot (or almost shot) in every show-or is it just a coincidence that she was almost shot in the first one I watched and then last nights-and it looks like it is going to (almost) happen again next week?  Maybe it is just me and I haven't seen enough episodes to really know that that is the case...

Moving right along-Because it is FRIDAY-it is time for FIVE QUESTION FRIDAY!!!  FQF is hosted by Mama M so make sure you stop by to say hey!

1. What is your current favorite TV show?
Man!  You know I hate to pick a favorite...and especially when I just talked about 2 new shows I am really into right now! (I didn't even know this was a question when i started typing this blog...I am just good like that!) I also love stupid shows like the Challenge: Rivals (well with the exception of Leroy and Mike-because they are more of a bromance than rivals...but stupid Adam showed his Rea rend again and made a fool out of himself YET AGAIN and got kicked off of yet ANOTHER reality series...what a Mo-Mo.) and Keeping up with the Kardashians...and Jerseylicious (new found love as of Sunday) and the list goes on...I can't do it guys, I just can't pick my favorite...I know I am lame...

2. What's the worst haircut you ever got?
Worst?  That is a tough one...when I was younger, I had a friend named Asilynn, and she had a really cute hair cut and I had your standard hair cut-straight and shoulder length-so I really wanted her hair...so I asked her what her cut was called so I could get it too.  She told me it was a Pixie cut...so at my next appointment (read that as our neighbor who cut hair on the side...in her driveway) I told her I wanted a Pixie cut...and she asked me at least 4 times if I was sure...each time I said yes, I am sure...but apparently her version and my friend's versions were 2 TOTALLY different versions...and I left there crying because I looked like a boy-it was terrible...There is also the one when I was going to be a sophomore (or was it junior year? ugh so long ago now so it is hard to remember) in college, and I needed a hair cut before I left for school-so I scheduled it for the day BEFORE I was leaving-so it would be fresh and I wouldn't have to come home too soon to get my hair cut again-and I brought a picture of the hair cut that I wanted with me to the stylist-who I had never sat with before...and you know, sometimes when you bring pictures to a stylist of what you want your hair to look like, it turns out different because of your hair texture, thickness, the shape of your face and the number of chins you have-and so on (come on you know if you bring a picture of Carrie Underwood with you and you have spiral curly hair you are NOT going to leave looking like Carrie Underwood-and your hair dresser should warn you of this-or if you have super thick hair with any sort of wave to it, you should probably steer clear of cutting it chin length or shorter-I have seen very FEW people be able to pull this look off) but this time was different-this time, the picture I brought was of yours truly-me-from 2 years before that-because I love love loved that hair cut (Shout out to Spring at Hair 2 Spare in Chesapeake, VA-don't know if she is still there, but if she is, she really knows her stuff and I was devastated when I had to move away from her and put my hair in someone else's hands...and clippers...) so I wanted to recreate that look again...so there should have been no problem replicating the look right?  Wrong.  This lady-don't even know her name nor do I care to attempt to recall her name...told me that just because I brought a picture doesn't mean I would look like that girl...and she kept saying it throughout the cut...so I should have taken that as a warning-but I didn't.  That lady cut my hair SO short-I mean it wasn't a crew cut or anything, but I couldn't even tuck the front part behind my ears...it was BAD-real bad...so I wore a hat or visor frequently to cover that mistake up...I am not sure which was worse the first one because I was younger and elementary and middle school kids are ruthless-ugh do not ever cut your hair short in SC and then move to RI pretty close after that-those RI kids were NOT nice to me when I first moved there...I cried a lot when I first moved there...I digress-but the second one happened while I was older and I had more control over the situation and some college kids are mean too...toss up...I know-I am lame with the lack of decisions...
3. What is something you that you did as a child that you thought you were so cool for doing?
Well...I really didn't think I was cool as a child so there's that, um...well, I was in band, and I loved it and I had a lot of friends in the band so I am sure I thought that was cool, while other people did not...ugh I don't know, I seriously was a big dork so I am sure I thought all of the stuff I did was cool and really wasn't-ask my sister she was more popular than I was when we were kids...I think the roles reversed as we got older, but I really always wanted to play with her and her friends, but they wouldn't let me...jerk faces...When I was in middle school, I used to wear my dad's long sleeved rugby shirts to school...they were enormous on me, but baggy was the style back then (BOY how the times have changed-wearing baggy clothes these days is almost forbidden!) so I thought I was cool for doing it, but when I look at pictures I looked pretty silly...

4. Do you have any GREAT frugal family fun tips?
Great?  um...well, sometimes we will make lunch (sandwiches chips juice etc) and pack it up and ride our bikes to the park and have a picnic so Hannah can play after we eat...not so sure that is great, but Hannah likes it and we like to have a happy Hannah...
5.. Would you drive across country if you had the money to fly?
Probably not...a) I hate driving-again, I am more of a passenger b) I hate being in a car for too long because my old lady arthritis starts to act up c) Hubs and I can NEVER agree on music d) the aforementioned C issues doesn't matter because Hannah makes us listen to her CD which is either Mickey Mouse Club house or another CD fully of awful awesome children's songs (seriously, I remember one day I was in the car with Hayley when she was about 3 or 4 and she literally started belting out "Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy" from her car seat, and I almost died and vowed that my children would not be exposed to that at such an early age-hey in a society where everyone is in a rush to grow up I want my baby to stay young and innocent as long as possible) e) when we aren't listening to Hannah's CD-we are listening to Finding Nemo-because for some reason she feels the need to watch that move EVERY time we go on a trip for longer than an hour f) Hannah tends to turn into the vomit monster if she gets hot in the car-so we never know when the monster will strike g)currently Hannah is potty training so we would have to stop frequently to make sure she didn't have any accidents...
So for all of those reason (and many more that I will spare you from having to read) I would choose to fly across country.
Come on and join in the FQF Fun!!!

Weekend Wednesaysih v.10

Yes, I am aware that today is Thursday-not Wednesday...painfully aware.  Yesterday I needed a re-do-have you ever had one of those days that just started off on the wrong foot and before 10 am you just wanted a do-over?  That was me yesterday.  Due to the fact that I am pretty indecisive-and yet appropriately assertive (I guess the use of appropriate depends on who you ask, but since you are reading and I am the one talking blogging about it, the word appropriate is perfectly...appropriate when it comes to my assertiveness), I frequently second guess decisions I have made regarding various situation in my life.  I am not going to go into too much detail about it (I know, but I promise you will thank me later) but yesterday was one of those days where my second guessing nature led me to frustration and the frustration led me to tears with led me to shut down mode which led to a nonproductive state of mind ...it I was a struggle to say the least.  That being said, I beg your forgiveness for not actually posting this Weekend Wednesday yesterday...forgive?  Thank you for your understanding,.

So Last weekend Hannah and I spent some quality time together.  My little girl is getting bigger everyday right before my eyes, and there is nothing I can do to stop it.  even though I want her to be my little cuddle bug forever, I love the fact that we can play together and do even more as she gets older-bitter sweet to say the least-my baby-who is not a baby anymore, will be 3 in less than a month.  On that note, something has happened-no nothing bad (well depending on who you ask) happened, but something happened this weekend.  Somehow, I have become Mom...I am no longer Mommy, just Mom...I don't know how or why it happened, but at some point this weekend, I turned into just Mom...It broke my heart a little, I am not going to lie.  I felt this same "pain" when Hannah looked at me last year and said "I don't no wanna rock tonight Mommy."  What?!?!  We rocked every night before Hannah went to sleep and sang our good night song and followed up with her bedtime prayers, and out of the blue-she looks at me-mid motion to sit down-and drops that bomb on me-I never even saw it coming...I put her in her bed, she rolled over on her side (that's how we know she is REALLY about to fall asleep) and she was out...I left her room closed the door and cried-while Hubs just looked at me with a confused stare...he will never get it.  So when Hannah decided I am Mommy. I received the same confused stare from Hubs...yet another sign that my baby is no longer a baby anymore...

As I previously mentioned, we are in full blown potty training mode so I try to make sure I don't go too far from home because Hannah seems to be very hesitant to try to go potty when we are out, and at this point, I need her to be comfortable with knowing that she has to go potty and then actually making the effort to go sit on the potty.  That being said, I made the executive decision to not go workout Saturday morning-for fear that the ladies in the child car center at the gym wouldn't know that they needed to ask Hannah if she needed to try to go potty and Hannah would get so caught up in play time (they have a jump castle in there, so there is NO WAY that going potty was going to take priority over  bouncing in the jump castle) that she would be more likely to have an accident and then feel bad and give up trying to go potty for the rest of the day, and that was not worth an hour of spin class to me-judge me if you will-I don't care.

Saturday morning Hannah decided she wanted to watch George-you know-Curious George...jealous of my Saturday shows?  You should be.  We got Hannah a Curious George Goes Green movie (and by movie I mean series of George episodes that are related to Green efforts) and that was what she wanted to watch.  Now, Hannah is a multi-tasker, and cannot just sit and watch a show-she likes to play with her toys and have the show on in the background (she totally gets that from me-I hate when it is so quite I can hear myself breathing!).  She decided to play with some wooden spoons (oh the money I waste on actual toys) that are a normal wooden spoon on one end and a drum stick on the other (these were actually a gift for Hubs because that's how he rolls).  She then pulled out a bucket and began stirring the spoon in it.   I asked her what she was making-and generally her response is "I'm making you dinner," and this time her response was "I'm making compost."  There you have it folks, Hannah has gone Green.

Saturday afternoon Hannah and I made a trip to Target-her favorite store.  I got her some more side walk chalk (or "chunks" if you are Hannah) and a jump rope-she loves playing with Hayley's jump rope so I decided she needed one of her own-not that she really knows how to use it.  After target we had lunch and went home to play "Chunks," blow bubbles, play soccer and "play" jump rope.  Hannah is a hopper...like a frog, she likes to jump/hop everywhere she goes-not sure where she gets that.  I have been trying to get her to hop on one foot, (but that is not going so well...) so I drew a hopscotch game on the driveway with the "Chunks" and showed Hannah how to play...she is the CUTEST thing when playing Hopscotch-she puts one foot in the single square and kicks up her other (so it looks like she hopped with one foot) and then tells me (and/or Hubs depending on who is with her) that we are doing it wrong when we just hop with one foot on those same blocks....ahhh silly sweet Hannah!

Sunday was Father's Day.  Hannah and I practiced saying "Happy Father's Day" all night Saturday.  When Hannah saw Hubs Sunday morning, she jumped up and said "Happy Mother's Day Daddy!  You are such a good mommy!"  So A) hubs gets to be Mommy and I am just Mom?  I don't mean to sound bitter, but seriously? B) I SWEAR we practiced Father's Day and not Mother's Day, but Hubs is convinced that I sabotaged the delivery...me?  Well, maybe I would on any other day just to get a rise out of him, but I swear I didn't tell her to say Mother...pinkie promise...Any how, Hannah was so excited to give Hubs the card and picture she made for him that she opened it for him while telling him she made him a picture.  It was sweet.  Hannah and I went to church and had lunch with my parents afterwards.  This time, Hannah gave Poppi the correct Happy Father's Day delivery, and then proceeded to open his card for him as well-she is such a good helper...

Later Sunday, Hannah decided that she wanted to have Chinese for dinner (I am pretty sure it is due to the large variety of jell-o at the Chinese buffet that makes her want to go there so often...or maybe it is the fish tank in the front, or the water fountain in the lobby area...who knows), so we made our way to the Chinese restaurant, and afterwards we went to the party store to start getting things for Hannah's 3rd birthday party...3rd...yes that is correct, she will be 3.  Originally, Hubs and I were planning to do a Tinkerbell party...but when we asked Hans what she wanted to do, she said..."Hmmm...I will consider it...I think we will do Cars."  Cars...I should have seen that coming, she is practically obsessed with that movie...(side bar-so much so that a red mustang passed us this morning while we were stopped at a stop sign and Hannah said "Look Mom-That was Lightening McQueen!") so just to make sure we asked her again if she wanted Tinkerbell or Cars, and she said again that the wanted Cars...So we made our way to the invitations and there, in plain sight, was Mickey...oh no-what a dilema for an almost 3 year old...Mickey or Mater?  We pulled down 1 Tinkerbell, 1 Cars and 1 Mickey invitation, and put her little pointer finger on her chin and tapped it, and said "I think I want Mickey" and grabbed that package and walked away.  That was it-we grabbed some Mickey and Minnie invitations and some party favors and checked out-we will be going back for plates and other Mickey related items later.  Unfortunately, since then, Hannah has been asking to play with her new Mickey stuff and tells everyone it is her birthday...silly girl.

We are planning to do a hot dog bar at the party-trying to keep it simple.  Maria did this for Mason's birthday and it was such a good idea we are stealing borrowing the idea too-Low maintenance, easy to do, kid friendly, that's what I call a win-win-win :) (Thank you Michael Scott).  I asked Hannah if she wanted hot dogs at her birthday party and she said "No, I think we just need cake."  I have finally convinced her that we will have both and that she will need to eat her hot dog before she can have cake-we will see how that goes when the party comes....

I also just scheduled her 3 year old pictures-I am excited, but I need to find some shoes to go with her dress.  Because her birthday is in July, I bought her a white dress (before you go off on a tangent about how it is a waste of money to buy a white dress for a child let me assure you that it was purchased solely for picture purposes only) with red white and blue cupcakes embroidered on the bottom-I am thinking Red sandals would be great because I want to put a blue headband in her hair so she can wear her hair down for the pictures-we will see if I can find the sandals I want though...

Sunday night I was struggling to find something I wanted to watch on TV and I finished reading my book so I flipped through the channels until I found..wait for it...JERSEYLICIOUS!  Okay-do any of you watch this show on Style?  I love it...you know I am a sucker for a reality series, but this one is something special!  I love how feisty all of the girls on the show are!  Seriously-if you have never seen it, try to catch it- it is AWFULly entertaining!

Hope you had a great weekend! Seriously-when you can't find anything to watch on TV this weekend-try to find a Jerseylicious episode to get lost in-you won't regret it (okay, maybe you will, but if there really isn't anything else to watch and you have nothing better to do, it is a good alternative to staring at the walls...or folding laundry...just sayin).

Monday Started With A Bang...Literally

Okay, I live approximately 15 minutes away from where I work, and due to the fact that there was a fire on one main route in addition to a DRIVE BY SHOOTING on the interstate (no, for real guys, I am not even making that up...a drive by...in Charleston...ugh, can we please get some positive publicity soon SC?) it took me over an hour to get to work...ridiculous.  None the less, I made it and Monday has most certainly started out with a bang...again...you know I had to do it...  Moving right along to Meet Me on Monday...

1. What feature of the opposite sex do you notice first?
Teeth...without a doubt, I notice teeth on any gender...top row, bottom row, extra rows, crooked, missing, cracked, discolored...I check for it all-in the very first glance...to quote my Hannah, when "something is not quite right," I need to figure it out... next are the eyes...

2. Do you talk to yourself?
Um yes, I do, all of the time, aloud, for the good of the group...okay, so maybe it isn't always for the good of the group, but no matter where I am, the group can most certainly hear me!  Just ask the people I used to work with-they will tell you the same!  I find that I talk a lot more when I am in the car...Maybe that's why I love to blog...because I have so much to say!

3. What is your current relationship status?
Married (for 6 years) with child...I mean-not with child, as in there is no bun in the oven, but I have a child-a Hannah...to be specific.

4. Do you have a garden?
BAhahahahahaha.  No!  I am not plant people.  ask anyone.  I had a plant when I was in college-his name was Lucky (you know, Lucky if he lives...) and he has been VERY lucky to have found a loving home with my Mom, who feeds and takes care of him daily...Recently, Hannah decided that she needed to do magic (and by magic, I mean, plant seeds and they magically grow) so we have 5 mini pots in the kitchen window...2 are doing pretty well (by that I mean are not dead...) and the other 3...well...I would just like to focus on the 2 that are doing well.

5. What is your favorite licorice flavor?
Red...I know, red is not a flavor, but I like the red ones-they can be cherry or strawberry, I love them both...I REALLY dislike the black ones...and other than red and black, I don't really know of any other flavors...I do love a Twizzler...but I am trying to stay on the diet wagon and not eat any...so far so good!

Give your followers a reason to look forward to Monday and join in the fun!

Weekend Wednesday v.9

So, If you read my Meet Me on Monday post you know that we had a pretty exciting weekend!  If you did NOT read my post, shame on you, stop reading now, go catch up and come back-I will wait-no seriously, I will wait...

Caught up?  Great. Moving on.  So this weekend was Hubs' birthday-he is the Big 31!  We celebrated on Saturday, even though his real birthday was Sunday.

We kicked off the weekend by attending yet another, Charleston Riverdogs' baseball game, though this week, the tickets were given out through Hubs' work so I really didn't know too many people there-well you know, other than the ones we brought...Our group consisted of Hubs, Hannah, My mom and dad, Hayley, Ashley, and Hubs' Mom and Step dad (Ray-or Gramps if you are Hans).  I should note that this baseball game was Ray's very first baseball game he has ever attended-did I just hear you gasp?  I felt the same way-he really just isn't into sports-so we were very excited the he came out to spend some time with us!  We had another picnic before the game-same hot dog/hamburger mix, though I will say that the lemonade was a little better this week than it was last week so that was a plus!

Hubs and Hans really only like to go to the game to eat peanuts...can't tell they are related can you?

Hannah did not forget her new found love for Chelsea and Charlie-as when she woke up Friday morning she announced that she was going to see Chelsea and give her a huggie, and sure enough, as soon as she saw Chelsea, Hannah gave her a huggie!  She also gave Charlie a huggie-that kid is so stinking cute I don't know what to do with her!  Also-We had a MAJOR potty training break through at the game.  I was quite hesitant to put Hannah in a pull up for the game because when she is "busy" she can't seem to remember to stop and go potty so I was afraid we were setting her up for failure by taking her out of her element and letting her run around during the game.  However-Hannah went potty on the BIG potty (you should know that she typically only uses her potty-which is a princess throne and plays royal music when she goes (or if the potty catcher part is not put back on correctly which is SUPER aggravating but that is another story) and not really on a real toilet) not once but TWICE-2 times she told me she needed to try to go potty, but made me promise not to flush it (because it was SUPER loud and scared me a bit the first time I flushed it so I don't blame her one bit)...and then she actually went!  I was so excited and so was she!  She ran out of the bathroom back to where we were sitting to announce to everyone that she went potty and we did the Potty Dance!  Such a proud moment!  (As a side note, I did, in fact, flush the potty, I just let her move closer to the door before flushing it so it wasn't as bad for her...just so you know).

Chelsea is her favorite so we have to find her first

But we can't leave without giving Charlie a Huggie too!

And what is a baseball game without Italian ice-and when you are Hannah, of course you need every flavor-Blue Raspberry, Lemonade, Mango and Tangerine!
Saturday, I woke up early and went to the gym to workout with Heather-I needed a good workout because I knew I was not going to be eating as well as I should be later on that evening due to the birthday events for Hubs.  When I got home, Hubs dropped Hans and the dogs off at my parents' house and we set out to spend the day together.  I planned a whole day for him without him knowing about most of it-I am pretty proud of myself for it too!  We started out playing Putt-putt...seriously-if you haven't played putt putt in a while, you need to, it is great to just get out there and goof off!  I was totally winning (by a good bit) in the beginning, which is pretty standard for Hubs and I...then as usual Hubs came back to beat me which is par for the course...come on, you know I had to do it!

I actually beat him on this hole...

I am happy here because I was actually winning...
Thankfully we went out early, because it was not too busy and it was getting SUPER hot while we were out, and I was not trying to get sunburned while playing mini-golf....After putt putt, we left and went to grab some lunch.  We didn't go anywhere exciting, but we did have an adult beverage-I had a bloody mary, which, I kind of wish I didn't have because it really wasn't that great...but oh well.  After lunch, we headed out to the bowling alley.  Hubs bowled the best game of his LIFE Saturday...which I find to be absolutely ridiculous because all he does is pick a super heavy ball and then throws it as HARD as he possibly can at the pins-doesn't try to aim or anything...you know, back in the day I used to be a pretty good bowler-(please don't unfollow me on account of my extreme geekiness-hey-we all have a past no?) but now, not so much...ugh I digress...none the less, Hubs beat me for the first 2 games, but then, during the last game, fate intervened!  The lights went out and Cosmic Bowling began!  Apparently whenever there is a birthday party planned the cosmic lights come on, regardless of the time of day-as soon as the regular lights went off and the fancy black lights and lasers came on, Hubs lost his ability to hit the pins-and I got mine back-and I won!  I was so excited to win 1 game-it happens to rarely so I have to take it whenever I can get it!

Hamming it up for the camera

Seriously, I used to be a pretty good bowler...

My love

Best game of Hubs' Life...not so much for me

THANK YOU COSMIC BOWLING FOR GIVING ME A CHANCE!
After bowling, we went home for about and hour and Hubs took a brief nap and I painted my nails...Side bar!  So I have been looking for the OPI shatter polish for quite sometime, and everywhere I have been has been sold out...which was a bummer for me, but Friday, I popped my head into Trade Secret and low and behold-they had it!  I was stoked!  I picked out an awesome Red-An Affair in Red Square-to put on as the base (and let me just tell you, for me, the process of deciding on a nail polish color is WORSE than trying to pick out a card for someones birthday-seriously-I know you know what I am talking about-where you have to read at least 10 cards and then you have to narrow them down and then by the time you think you know which one you are going to get, the lovely sales woman walks up and points you in the direction of even MORE cards so you have to start ALL over again...)-you know I love a red and black combo-and I went to check out and the sales...lady..um...associate (Look, don't hate me but I am not convinced that the person helping me was, in fact, a female...if it weren't for the length of hair, I would have been convinced that it was a male, but I can't be sure) pointed out that the new Pirates of the Caribbean line had just come in-and shows me that the shatter for that line is-wait for it-SILVER-yes people, you KNOW I needed that STAT!  So I grab the silver shatter and a lovely purple (A Grape Fit) and I roll out with 4 bottles of nail polish...I was so excited about the silver that I wanted to use that one first-before the black one.  Back to Saturday.
So I paint my toe and fingernails purple-and for those of you who know me, you are aware that I NEVER paint my finger nails ANY color other than a neutral or clear coat because I don't want to draw attention to my fingers due to my nail biting issue, but I was so excited about the silver shatter that I didn't care!  (and I also figured that if the polish chipped while the shatter was on, it would be less noticeable right?)  I wait for the purple to dry and I apply the Shatter-and wait...and wait...and wait some more...seriously people, it looked awful, I was so disappointed by the lackluster performance that I took it all off immediately-and started fresh with the purple again...but I couldn't get all of the stupid purple off of my finger nails-I am in serious need of some nail polish remover- so I had to repaint my fingers purple as well...so even though I hate that the shatter failed, and that my finger nails are now a rather loud purple, I am going to make a conscious effort to make my nails look nice and not bite them...we will see how long that lasts....

After Hubs' nap, we both got ready for the evening events-I made reservations on the Spirit of Charleston for a dinner cruise.  I was particularly excited about this because a) it was a complete surprise and b) neither Hubs nor I have ever done that before.  The cruise was supposed to begin boarding at 6:30, so we got there a bit early to make sure we had enough time to find it (we RARELY visit mt. Pleasant-so there was a very good chance I was going to get us lost, even with map quest-you know I am navigationally challenged people!) and get our boarding passes.  I opted to wear a strapless denim dress and Hubs wore a button up with the sleeves rolled up and some khakis...I also decided (for God only knows what reason) that it would be a great idea to wear my hair DOWN (another Rare occurrence) and curl it...I paid for this later while we waited in the line to board the boat-it was approximately 1 BILLION degrees...okay so maybe not 1 BILLION but it was hot, REALLY REALLY HOT and I thought I was going to melt before we were able to board-so just in case you are considering going on a cruise yourself, please do yourself a favor and don't get there early, just wait so you don't have to wait in line and hear the CRAZIES that are waiting to get on the boat with you...for example (come on you knew there would be a for example!) there was a class reunion from 1976 that was on our boat-and there were so many of them-all dressed in Orange-that everyone behind Hubs and I were trying to see where they were seated to make sure it wasn't with them-they were THAT loud and obnoxious...so we asked the people when we boarded where that group was seated-and we were told 'The Middle Deck."-Phew!  Hubs and I were on the Upper deck-no worries for us-until we realized that by Middle-he meant Upper-and they were, in fact, on our level...joy...OR for another example-I am pretty sure that 1 of the 2 couples in front of me -who did not look a day over 18, consisted of a young desperate boy and his escort, her dress was so short, I think it was actually a tank top that she stretched below (and I mean JUST BELOW) her butt cheeks...it was bad...

I had no idea we were putting ourselves in danger by heading to Mount Pleasant!  Watch out for the Coyotes!

Waiting to board the boat

The view while we were waiting in line
None the less.  because I made our reservations close to the cruise, I couldn't reserve a table for 2 so we knew we were going to be seated with at least 1 other couple-and as long as it wasn't one of the ones from the reunion, I really didn't care who it was (hey, at least the escort would have been friendly....no?).  Hubs and I were seated at our table-for 4, and we anxiously waited to see who was going to be seated across from us...Enter Richard and Tina...and I want to go on record and say that even if I had not come to find out that they were both in the business of selling cars, I would have said that they both were salespeople of something...Richard and Tina were a great couple to get to know and I was so proud of Hubs for making conversation with them!  They were celebrating their 7th wedding anniversary-after dating for a mere 18 years...yes people, Tina told him she was sick of being his girlfriend and wanted a ring-so she got it!  Go ahead Tina!

Tina & Richard...who may or may not have been drinking heavily when this was taken
Hubs and I chose our entree options-Hubs chose the Pork steak (I had no idea there was a such thing a a Pork steak, but you learn something new everyday) and I opted for the Beef tenderloin...then we made our way to the top deck to see the view of the Harbor...it was beautiful! When dinner was ready we made our way back to our table and sat down.  The food was pretty good.  I should also tell you that Tina ordered the Salmon...and according to Richard, the Salmon was 10 times better than the beef tenderloin (which he also ordered after asking me what I was having and told the waiter-mmm-i will have what she's having) and that I should try it.  I politely declined his offer (I really am not that big of a fan of salmon...I mean, I will eat it if I have to, but when does anyone EVER have to eat salmon...well, if you are sitting with Richard, you do have to eat it.  Richard, proceeded to cut a piece of Tina's salmon and put it on my plate and told me I had to try it...honestly, I was so taken aback, that I just picked up a piece and ate it...and then Hubs did the same thing!  Who knows what would have happened if we hadn't eaten it!?  Tina then scolded Richard, reminding him that we are NOT their children or their grand children so he shouldn't force us to eat food, but by then the damage had been done (for the record, the salmon was pretty good, but I still preferred the beef).  After dinner, we headed back up to the top deck to take in more of the harbor view.  It was so nice to just relax with Hubs.

In case you wondered what our menu options were...

And we are off!

Photo Opportunity! This is also proof that I wore my hair down...take it in people take it in...

Hubs and I hanging out Topside (Don't I sound like real boat people?)

This was during dinner-it was super chilly inside so I was happy I grabbed a sweater before we left the house!

The bridge all lit up-Hubs took this picture...

Right before we docked

This was my attempt at taking a picture of the bridge...I am just going to blame the fact that we were moving and that's why it is blurry...
After the cruise, we made our way to Wild Wing, where 2 of Hubs' friends were meeting us.  There was an awesome live band (Hitsmack-Hipslap?  I am not sure...I am going to have to look it up) but I kept professing my love for the band to Hubs the whole time we were there.  We stayed at Wild Wing for a few hours, and then we made our way home...we got home pretty late.  I did no wake up until 11 Sunday morning...we had every intention of going to church, but clearly missed that...I needed about 1000 ibuprofen, but that is a whole different story.  We most definitely partied like we were 21 again, and quickly realized that we canNOT hang with the single crowd anymore.  I always say that I am too old to hang with the young pups, and Hubs pointed out that I was the youngest person out Saturday night...sad no?

getting the after party started!

Travie had a little bit of Drink envy...HEY!  You can see my purple nails in this one!

I love a Woodchuck-especially when it is draft!

Hubs and Nick...

I was trying to get them all to give a thumbs up but clearly Travie was not participating

Travie and Me
As I mentioned, I didn't wake up until 11, and I honestly cannot remember the last time I have been able to sleep past 6 in a very long time-thank you Hannah and the "Real" world (and by that I mean my J-O-B), so I was pretty out of it when I finally did wake up.  Hubs announced that his brother was on the way over to collect all of the baby stuff we had in our attic/garage, so we had to kick it in high gear and get started on getting that stuff down from the attic...Hubs' brother (Ryan) and his girlfriend are expecting a baby in November-and due to the fact that Hubs and I decided that we do not wish to expand our family to include any additional children, we were completely stoked to give them all of the stuff that Hannah has grown out of...like the bassinet, pack-n-play, activity mat, jump-a-roo, baby tub, baby toys, boppy pillow, travel systems-complete with 2 car seat bases, 2 additional strollers-diaper bags oh how the list goes on-all of that stuff filled the entire back of Ryan's truck as well as the inside of the cab behind the seats...and we still have more stuff to give them.  As they drove away, Hubs and I did a dance to celebrate the fact that we now have room in both our garage and attic for other stuff!

We headed out to Sonic to get some food to put in our stomachs-with the hope of helping us to feel better...I opted for a diet cherry limeade as my choice in beverage, and I have to say, I wish I opted for the undiet...oh well...then we headed over to my parents' house to pick up Hans and the dogs, by this time it was about 1:30, and I was certainly ready for a nap.  When we got home, Hans announced that she was ready for a nap as well, so we all took a nap...a 4 hour nap to be exact-and it was AWESOME!  Sunday was Hubs' actual birthday, and we really didn't do anything but sleep.  When we woke up, Hubs decided he wanted Chinese food, so we went to dinner, came home and watched Mickey's Adventures in Wonderland (again...jealous?) and then Hannah went to bed and so did I...like I said, all we did was sleep Sunday, and yet, I was still so tired Sunday night!  It was ridiculous!  Hubs made us make a pact that we would never try to party like we were young ever again-I agreed-seriously people, I am too old to be hanging out with the young pups!

That was our weekend-Happy Birthday Hubs I hope this year is even better than last year! I will probably spend the rest of this week (through the weekend) recovering from all of the excitement!  That reminds me, Sunday is Father's Day-what are you guys getting the Father's in your life?
