Like Driving? Apply Within

In an effort to maintain some sort of Blog stability, I'm treating you to 2 Friday posts!  It's like a BOGO only better because this awesome service is FREE!!! Today is FIVE QUESTION FRIDAY!!! (Disclaimer...no pictures here today lame-yes...but I'm feeling lazy...)

1. If you could buy any car, money not an option, what would it be?

It would be an SUV...honestly, the one car that I REALLY wanted was a Toyota Corolla, and I have one...but if I were to bet something new, it would have more room in it...and be a pretty red color...like Nissan or Lexus red...but I really don't car what kind it is...

2. What was your worst first date ever?
There was the time i went out with this guy and he took a turn so fast that the door flew open-and luckily I was wearing a seat belt (I am an avid seat belt wearer-I do it a lot because I like it...and it's the law) so I didn't fly out too...
3. How old were you when you fell in love for the first time?
Ahhh....young love...actually Hubs is my first REAL love.  I thought I knew what love was until I found him (I know, you just threw up a little bit in your mouth didn't you?  I don't blame you I would have the same reaction if I was you...)  but we met when I was 19 and about a.5 years later I knew it was love

4. When was the last time you reconciled your checkbook?
Psshhh...I am just going to skip this one...But as a fun story my friend Candi used to balance hers while driving...
5. If you were going to fashion a "Wanted" Ad for a best friend, how would you word it?
Must be AWESOME-must like having a good time doing anything, MUST BE FUNNY, honest, outgoing, caring, must be able to tell me when my butt looks big or when there is something in my teeth or on my face...or when anything is out of place...needs to be able to bring me up when I am down and down when I am too full of myself for my own good...Must love Hannah...Needs to like driving, because I HATE it...

Come on...you know you want to play too!

Weekend Wednesday v.5

Look, it's my blog and I will post late if I want to...sorry, I have been busy (I know, don't roll your eyes, I am aware that I say that practically every time I blog, but I am just trying to be honest with you...)  And even though it is not Wednesday, I thought that maybe you still wanted to hear about last weekend, before a new weekend begins tonight...so am I forgiven?  Thank you!

Hubs was working so Hans and I were on our own as far as our activities went.  Friday night, Hans and I went out to dinner with My dad and Hayley (or Poppi and Sissy if you ask Hans).  My mom (mawmaw) was out of town so Hans spent the day with Poppi and Sissy playing because Sissy was on Spring Break last week.  Hans LOVES playing with Sissy.  Apparently they went for a walk and while they were out it started raining, so Sissy and Hans took it as a sign that they should being jumping in the puddles...so they did, by the time Poppi found them, they were soaked.  (side bar, Hans had a cold she was just getting over...guess what decided to extend its stay?)  I had to blow dry her shoes before we could go grab some dinner.  Hans got pretty fussy at dinner (someone was so excited to play with Sissy that she didn't take a nap all day) so we ate in a hurry and ran out.  Hans got a bath and then wanted to go to bed.

Saturday, I had a session with Heather so Hans and I made our way to the gym.   She loves going to the gym to "play with friends."  After the gym, Hans wanted to go to the "Red Store" (You might know this as Target-she is obsessed with Target...she wants to go there all of the time...), so we visited Target...where I managed to spend $100 on stuff I really didn't need...then we went grocery shopping, and while at Publix, Poppi called and asked if we had time to take Sissy to get an Easter dress...of course we did!

After the groceries were put away we picked up Sissy and headed to the mall.  Sissy is graduating from middle school in about a month so she also needed a dress for graduation...We found her a super cute black dress with white polka dots and a red ribbon-but it really didn't say "Easter" to me, so I told her we could get it and go try on other dresses somewhere else to see if we could find something else...well, imagine my surprise when we checked out and the dress was 60% off!  I love a surprise sale!  So we headed off in search of the perfect Easter dress...by the time we left the mall I had 2 dressed, 1 pair of shoes, a head band (all for Sissy) and one sleepy Hans.  I dropped Sissy off and took Hans home and put her in her bed for a late afternoon nap...(if I am being completely honest, we both took a nap...)

Sunday was Easter.  The Easter Bunny did NOT disappoint! Hans was very excited about the fact that the bunny left her 2 baskets...(note to self: next year make sure Hubs is chaperoned while shopping for Easter basket items to ensure that we only have 1 basket-not 2 "But Erin, she needs all of that stuff"  Seriously people, he is worse than I am).  Then it was time to get ready for church...Hannah LOVED her new Easter Dress!  She called it her Princess dress, and wanted to spin around in Princess Circles all day.  She loved it so much that she has asked to wear her "Princess Dress" everyday since Easter, and keeps asking when it will be clean so she can wear it and be a Princess again.  This was weird to me considering she didn't like dresses until that moment...now she wants to wear one every day...silly girl!

After Church, Hans wanted to take a nap and not go to Poppi's house.  I put her down for her nap and started the typical Sunday festivities-you know-laundry, cleaning, etc. When she woke up, I took her over to Poppi's house to see what the Easter Bunny left for her there-and she was super excited to find all of the eggs that the "Messy Bunny" left around Poppi's house (I just love that little girl!).

As previously mentioned, my mom was out of town, and could not watch Hans Monday or Tuesday while both Hubs and I were working, so we made plans with Hubs' mom (Granci) to keep Hans for a few days, so we had to bring her to Granci's house before heading back to Poppi's house (sans Hans) for Easter Dinner.  I was kind of excited about the prospect of knowing I was going to be able to sleep through the night without interruption!  I must have jinxed myself because at 4:15 am my phone started making the "I'm about to die so plug me in or you won't have an alarm to wake you up" noises...so I had to turn on the light, find the charger and plug that piece in...even without my baby home, I STILL couldn't get 1 whole night of uninterrupted sleep...sigh... below are some pictures of Easter.  I hope you guys had a great weekend and a Happy Easter!

Before Church

She likes to pick flowers...but those are weeds so I don't mind

I didn't even have to pose her like this!

Parallel Parking Should Never Be A Necessity!

This week has been full of ups and downs for me (more about that later).  This weekend, is Easter.  Hannah is getting really excited about the Easter Bunny visiting the house...well, she is excited about the prizes he is going to bring, not about the bunny itself...not a fan of large mascot type things...not even the Chic-fil-a cow...seriously...

1. What is your favorite Easter tradition?
I wouldn't really say we have family traditions...we are starting them though.  This year, we dyed Easter Eggs, and Hannah really didn't get too into the whole idea, mostly because she wanted to play in the colored water (not so much a good idea) and the second we put them in the dye she wanted them back out...and when I handed her an egg to put her mickey stickers on, she dropped it on the floor...and it broke...but she really did like putting the stickers on the eggs once she realized she needed to hold onto them!

2. Are you a "shower" or a "long, hot bath" kind of person?
Shower, for sure.  We don't have a garden tub so there is nothing enticing me to take a long bath...

3. Can you parallel park and if so when is the last time you did it?
Negative...I cannot parallel park, nor do I ever wish to find myself in a situation in which parallel parking is the only option-probably one of the main reasons I don't like to go downtown or live in a city...I believe the last time I did try to parallel park was when I took my driver's ed class in high school...

4. What is your favorite Easter candy?
I don't really have a favorite Easter candy...I like how all of the candies are pastel or just prettier in general...I am not so much a fan of peeps...

5. Easter: do you go all out with the Easter Bunny or focus on the religious part of the holiday?
Because Hans is so young we explain what Easter is in terms she understands so right now it is more of an Easter Bunny experience for us/her...

Hope you guys have an Awesome Easter!
It's your turn for FQF!

Weekend Wednesday v.4

Warning:  This post is going to be full of pictures...if you don't want to be subject to viewing pictures of the World's cutest toddler, please stop reading now...(but for real, why wouldn't  you want to see a lot of pictures of Hans...after all, I am 99% confident that she is the real reason you come back to read the blog...)

This weekend was a pretty busy one for us!  Hubs was off Friday so he was home with Hans while I had to work...We went out to dinner when I got home from work, then we watched a movie and all went to bed.  Saturday, Hannah we woke up and got ready to go to the East Egg hunt sponsored by Hannah's school.  She had a blast!  At first, she was a little unsure so she had a little melt down, but then Hubs offered to hold her basket for her while she checked things out and that was all Hans needed to get her tush in gear and "find" (look, she was in the 0-3 age group, so there really wasn't a lot of finding involved, more like walking and trying not to step on the eggs...) all of the eggs.  All I could think of was how many times she was going to ask me if she could eat the candy, until I realized that Hannah's school is AWESOME and put stickers and other things in the eggs for her age range so no candy in those eggs...I just now have stickers all over my car, furniture, house, etc...  I will say that Hannah still has not warmed up to the idea of the "real" Easter Bunny...she would make me tell her where the bunny was, and want to see it, but if we got closer than 10 feet, she would start to get upset...maybe next year...

Finding the eggs
Someone just spotted the GOLDEN EGG
The Golden egg was way up in a tree so Hubs had to help her reach it

Tah Dah!

Raise your hand if you are awesome!

It's dark, but she got to go to the front to get her Golden Egg Prize, she was so excited!

Snack time!

she only wanted to eat the blue icing-after she ate the icing, she asked for another one...
Me and My Love leaving the Easter Egg Hunt
We left the Easter Egg Hunt, and Hubs wanted to eat lunch, so we went to Five Guys...mmmm, be jealous if you do not have one (or more than one) of these in your area...After lunch, we needed to go to the grocery store because it was baking day for my Amish Friendship Bread (which turned out AMAZING in case you were wondering, I was so proud of myself) and I still needed more ingredients for the bread.  After the store, it was nap time.  Hans napped for about 3.5 hours, she was worn out from all of the Easter Egg excitement!

We decided to go to church Saturday night instead of Sunday morning because we were going to go downtown for Cara's going away brunch.  After church, we had a pizza picnic while watching Hans' new favorite movie...Cars..What?  Cars is not a new favorite for Hans?  You have heard about cars for the last few weeks?  Mmmhmmm, yep, I understand, welcome to my life...

Sunday we woke up and got ready for our trip downtown...and just so you know, Hubs drove, so we did not get lost.  Hubs decided he wanted to park a "little bit" away from the Battery so Hans could see all of the fountains while we walked to meet up with everyone.  (A little seemed like miles, but if you were to ask Cara, she would say "It's only a few blocks")
Here are some photos of our excursion

As an added bonus for you, this is where Hubs proposed on May 7, 2004
